Believers as Sinners?

Are we sinners? I don’t understand why any believer would want to call themselves a sinner. Yes the bible says we have ALL sinned and fallen short, but to me that means we all have sinned before we knew Christ. Romans 6, 7, and 8 all talk about how we are no longer sinners and our sinful desires have been crucified. The whole book of Galatians says basically the same thing. Titus chapter 2 says we are to teach and encourage other believers that Christ gave His life so we can be free from EVERY KIND OF SIN. (Titus 2:14 NLT) The NIV has put it this way: 11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

Do you not understand this? Grace teaches us to say NO to sin!

Yes in 1John it says that if we claim to have no sin, then the truth is not in us, but do not stop there keep reading. It says we know that Jesus came to take away our SINS, and there is no sin in Him. Anyone who continues to live in Him WILL NOT SIN. ANYONE who keeps on sinning DOES NOT KNOW HIM OR UNDERSTAND WHO HE IS. 1 John 3:5-6
