Do you focus on suffering? The Bible says to keep your mind on things above. The things that are above are the things that are in Heaven. There is no sickness, no disease, no pain, no suffering, and even no death in Heaven. Most people quote what Jesus said in John 16:33 “in the world you will have trials and tribulations” and they stop there. FINISH IT OUT. Jesus said “BUT take heart I have overcome the world”. The Bible also says that if you are a born again Christian, then you HAVE OVERCOME the world. That is what we need to be focusing on. Focus on the end result. Paul said we live by faith not by sight. Faith is looking through the fence and focusing on the green grass on the other side. Romans chapter 8 says we are to walk in the Spirit. Spiritually minded people set their minds on spiritual things that are above. The first thing we need is Jesus. The next step we do is pray for wisdom and then get in His Word. If you need healing, go to the verses that talk about healing and get yourself some healing. If you need peace, go to the verses that talk about peace and get yourself some peace. WHATEVER YOUR NEED IS, go to the Bible and receive your need. God gives you what you need in this life. The Bible says in 2 Peter 1:2-3 that Grace and peace has been multiplied to us in the knowledge of God. And that His divine power has given to us ALL things that pertain to life. We need to pray. The Bible also says in James 5:16 that the EFFECTIVE fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much. If you are a born again Christian, then you are considered righteous in God’s eyes, therefore your prayers are effective and they avail MUCH. So focus on the truth that God wants you well and He wants you to live long in this life. Just because Jesus said you will suffer does NOT mean that God wants you to suffer. So don’t focus on suffering and focus on things of a GOOD REPORT as the Scripture says in Philippians 4:8-9. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of a good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw me do, and the peace of God will be with you. Be at peace through the storm and be at peace after the storm. And remember there are no storms in Heaven. Also remember that God doesn’t give storms, but He calmed them and now Jesus has told us to speak to the storm and it will leave if you can just believe! Grace and peace be multiplied to you IN JESUS’ NAME, Amen.
